Congenital Heart Defect Support Groups

Whether your child has just been diagnosed with a congenital heart defect or is already a seasoned fighter, support groups can provide a place to share the emotional ups and downs that go along with being a part of the CHD community. The Children's Heart Foundation is not affiliated with any support groups, but we hope the list below will help you find the comfort you're looking for. Bear in mind that this list only includes support groups who have a current, working website. If you do not see a group in your area, contact your local hospital to see if they know of any nearby support groups.

MULTI-STATE SUPPORT GROUPS

Little Hearts - Providing Hope Since 1998
Little Hearts has support groups in many states in the East Coast and also offers an excellent parent matching service, with members in every state.

Saving Little Hearts - Helping Children with Congenital Heart Defects
Saving Little Hearts has several support groups across the state of Tennessee as well as a few groups scattered throughout the country. In addition they have a parent matching program.

Congenital Heart Information Network- Information, Resources, & Support
C.H.I.N. is an international organization that provides reliable information, support services and resources to families of children with congenital heart defects and acquired heart disease, adults with congenital heart defects, and the professionals who work with them.

It's My Heart
It's My Heart’s mission is to provide support, spread awareness, educate and advocate for those affected by Congenital Heart Defects by creating alliances nationwide with fellow families, hospitals, support groups, and their respective community. We offer many programs which enhance our support capabilities, such as our Comfort Bags, Care Packages, Legacy Boxes, Backpack Buddies, Newsletter, Family Matching and our Teen group – We Got Heart. We are exited to announce that we are in the process of providing scholarships to a Nursing student and Medical Student per semester, who plan to go into CHD care. We would love to share with you, comfort you, educate you and together we can make a difference.

Mended Little Hearts
Mended Little Hearts is a program of The Mended Hearts, Inc., a national support group that has been providing hope and caring to patients and their families for over 50 years. Mended Little Hearts has local support groups throughout the nation, as well as a national office that provides support services to these groups. Mended Little Hearts groups work closely with hospitals and cardiologists, and many groups have hospital visiting programs and provide care packages to families in the hospital. In addition, most Mended Hearts groups have monthly meetings with education speakers and resource ideas for families.

Levine Cardiac Kids
Levine Cardiac Kids is a group that supports children who are being treated for, or have recently been diagnosed with, Congenital Heart Defects (CHD) and their families.
