The goal of The Children’s Heart Foundation is to bring
health, hope and happiness to children impacted by congenital
heart defects, the number one birth defect in the United States.
We accomplish this goal by funding the most promising research to
advance the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of congenital
heart defects in children. Since 1996, The Children’s Heart Foundation has funded 34 research projects with more than $3 million! We have also written and published a parent resource book, “It’s My Heart,” The Children’s Heart Foundation is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt charitable organization. We do not receive any government funding. Our success is because of the generosity and passion of our supporters.
The CHF Iowa Chapter started in December of 2006. Since
that time we have had our national spokesperson, MacKinzie
Kline, here to participate in the John Deere Classic
Pro-Am courtesy of Trinity Regional
Health System. Hers was a story of courage and
determination. Not only did Mac play in the pro-am,
but she attended many different events in the area in her
week's
stay. She met with other children who have CHD at a
Trinity-sponsored
event and also spent an afternoon at the University of Iowa
Hospitals talking to both kids, their parents, and the hospital
staff. The Iowa Chapter truly thanks both MacKinzie
Kline and Trinity Regional
Health System for both getting and staying
involved with the Children's Heart Foundation.
